Thanks for your question. Although Chris Hillman’s suit is not currently on display, we hope to put it in the galleries in the near future. Museum objects are changed regularly due to conservation issues and other museum activities. Feel free to check-in with me before you visit next time at rroom@theautry.org.

Does the museum have plans to display Hillman’s suit? The last time I was there, in November 2012, I did not see it. It looks gorgeous, and I’m dying to see it in person.

Hi Dennis,

Well thank you so much for writing! I wrote a biography of Angel, published in 2008, and was delighted to see you have something I hadn’t seen! I did use a couple of Lummis’s letters from Autry in my research, so I knew just a bit about their relationship.

I’m so interested in her visit with, I assume, her sister, Julia. Can’t wait to see it!
